On Saturday 8th October from 8am to 2pm Westport Park will be the place to be if you want to learn about healthy, sustainable living.
The Green Day Out is a fun and family-friendly event with market stalls, entertainment and activities that educate about local and global environmental issues and provide ideas, tools and motivation to take action. This year the event will be held in conjunction with the Foreshore Markets.
Local businesses and community organisations will share their knowledge about how you can live a more healthy and environmentally friendly life. Learn about solar energy, worm farming and eco-products, grab a massage, take a yoga class or find out how to bring up your children nappy-free.
At market stalls you will be able to find a range of sustainable, organic and health products, such as essential oils, recycled stationery, organic bedding, vitamins, teas, floor-covering, natural paints, solar panels.
There’ll be healthy, and gluten-free food options and some yummy cakes to go with your chai or coffee. The Green Day Out is a waste-wise event – food and drinks will be served using compost-able plates and cutlery.
Be inspired to create change! Enjoy the festival atmosphere created by some great local musicians. And be amazed by local school students, when they parade their wearable waste art creations.
